On internal marketing
On internal marketing.
So much of what we eat/sleep/breathe at the early stage with our Work-Bench founders is how to land early customers - sales tactic, external marketing strategies, and other hacks to get in and close those first customers.
But I think about this protip I learned from April Koh at Spring Health often, especially now at the start of the year - how internal marketing to your own team is just as important.
When you're a small team fighting against all odds, aligning everyone on one big goal is critical. But the 🔑 key is to actually put on your marketing hat and figure out how to make this massive goal an easily repeatable slogan, catchphrase, tag line internally 📍
"Double up and double down," "10/10/10 [10 customers, 10 hires, etc.]," "Getting to 100 [integrations]" - a few examples of a catchy spin on 1 consistent message, and for this annual mantra to be simple enough to remember and for anyone on the team (not just you as the founder) to be able to repeat over and over, in every team meeting, town hall, and more 📣
For founders kicking off the new year and looking to bring energy to the new year - what's your rally cry for 2024?
